Bahrain – Victorious say goodbye to the unsung hero Domestique after 8 years of loyal service

As the 2024 road season comes to a close, teams across the peloton say goodbye to their riders and welcome new members to their respective squads. At Bahrain – Victorious they say goodbye to one of the longest-serving riders in the peloton.

“Thank you Yukiya Arashiro for 8 incredible seasons with our team!” A farewell post begins on the official social media pages of the Bahrain – Victorious team. “Your dedication and commitment from the beginning of our project have helped build the team we are today.”

As a three-time Japanese national champion, Arashiro also achieved overall victory in the Tour of Taiwan in the colors of Bahrain – Victorious. Most of the time, however, the 40-year-old can be seen at the front of the peloton, working hard to control the breakaway’s pursuit and keep his teammates in a good position to avoid getting into trouble.

Arashiro leaves Bahrain as the unsung hero of the modern peloton – victorious at the end of the season. “As a true ambassador of Japanese cycling, your influence on the sport has been immense,” the team continues as they bid farewell to the rider. “I wish you all the best in your next chapter.”

After his final race at the recent Japan Cup, Arashiro said goodbye on his own official Instagram account. “Thank you for all your support! It’s great to end the season well as a team and Matej to finish 3rd. I was very happy about the support, even after I fell back from the top group,” said the Japanese.
