The Trinity House Agreement, signed in London on October 23 by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and British Defense Minister John Healey, expands cooperation between the two countries from the Boxer armored vehicle to the production of weapon barrels to the development of long-range attack weapons and systems Defense. These are some of the projects on which Germany and the UK will cooperate under the agreement, which covers all dimensions: air, land, sea, space and cyber.
The agreement aims to strengthen industrial cooperation, especially in the land sector, and to commit to the production of Boxer vehicles in the long term. The Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) joint venture produces the Boxer and Challenger 3 main battle tanks in Great Britain.
Under the agreement, a Rheinmetall factory will open in the UK to produce gun barrels in the country using British steel from Sheffield Forgemasters for the first time in over a decade. A Rheinmetall spokesman said this

On October 23, he announced that the factory would produce 155mm artillery pieces and 120mm tank guns, including for the Challenger 3.
He said: “Rheinmetall is working closely with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Trade to identify the most suitable location for the production facility. No decision has been made yet. A contractual agreement between the British government and Rheinmetall is required for the concrete construction planning. The start of production is planned for 2027.”
