by Former cruiserweight world champion Lawrence Okolie has signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren’s Queensberry as he prepares for his heavyweight debut.
The 31-year-old Brit was world cruiserweight champion for two years and bridgerweight for a short time.
Warren promotes some of the division’s best heavyweights, including Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois.
“If you’re a heavyweight in the UK or the world, it’s the Warrens,” Okolie said.
“You have the best up-and-coming heavyweights, the best current heavyweights and the best on the way out. So it’s the right place.”
Okolie has appeared on Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom and most recently Ben Shalom’s Boxxer.
Okolie has suffered just one defeat in his 21-fight record – against Chris Billam-Smith in 2023 – and has long been considering a move to heavyweight.
Okolie is a long-time friend and training partner of two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.
Warren also promotes Joe Joyce, Zhilei Zhang, Joseph Parker and Moses Itauma.
“Lawrence has all the attributes to make a big impact in the heavyweight division and he will enjoy being freed from the burden of cutting weight and allowing his natural talent and power to shine,” Warren said.
