The fight was originally scheduled to take place on July 20, but was later postponed after Tyson suffered from an ulcer flare-up.

The event will be broadcast live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Texas as Paul looks to continue his boxing efforts with a win over the ‘Worst Man in the World’.

Netflix, together with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), released the official trailer for Countdown: Paul vs Tyson on Thursday.

The three-part documentary series offers a personal look at Paul and Tyson as they prepare for their highly anticipated mega event.

In the official trailer, Tyson compared himself to Paul in a way that would give anyone a goosebumps moment.

“I won’t do anything unless I risk embarrassment,” Tyson said. “Like now, I want to fight this young idiot.”

A clip also shows Tyson reacting to Paul’s original speech to the former WBA, WBC and IBF champion, when he said: “Mike, I love you, but I will take your throne, brother.”

Tyson simply responded by saying, “He’s an artificial killer. I’m a born killer.”

“Hard work is what defines me,” Tyson added. “I see myself as a liberator. I created people like Jake Paul.”

Paul vs. Tyson was sanctioned as a professional heavyweight contest by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

However, they will compete under a changed set of rules.

Both men will complete eight two-minute rounds, the length of amateur fights, rather than the typical three-minute rounds that professionals fight for.

They will also throw punches using 14-ounce gloves instead of the traditional 10-ounce gloves.

It is unclear why Paul and Tyson will swap leather for larger gloves, but the latter has said he has asked for the rounds to be shortened to produce “more action”.

Paul last appeared in the ring on July 20 against Mike Perry after his fight with Tyson failed.

“The Problem Child” won the fight by a TKO after six rounds against the former UFC fighter.

He also has notable victories against Tyron Woodley in 2021, but lost his first professional boxing fight to Tommy Fury in 2023.
